About Me

I do what I do because I believe in challenging the status quo of health and healthcare.

We all deserve to create the life we want with the health we need; your health is your greatest wealth.

I believe in dreaming big, working hard and pursuing passion. To find true health, you need to too. When you combine ambition with self-worth, you recognize what health truly means and you can create it. Your health and wellbeing is in your hands, and you should feel in control.

I am interested in providing you with empowered healthcare that allows you to understand your health, so you can change it. I believe everyone can feel better, but those who stay well are dedicated to maintaining a foundation of health through nutritional density, emotional boundaries and physical activity. I believe in making lasting change in our health habits so we can make lasting change in our lives, and in the lives of others. I want to live a vibrant and vital life – join me!

My story

Becoming a doctor was not always a part of my “When I grow up, I want to be…” story. I am a graduate from Trent University, where I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science. This program allowed me to develop critical thinking skills and practice putting pieces of a puzzle together as a part of a bigger picture. There, I found my interest and passion for medicine – and eventually found the world of naturopathic medicine. My path to becoming a naturopathic doctor certainly wasn’t straight – yet, I am now incredibly grateful to have found an exciting career that embraces who I am, as well as  a more sustainable and comprehensive approach to healthcare.

In 2016, I founded True Roots Healthcare, Uxbridge’s first and only dedicated naturopathic clinic.

Why Naturopathic Medicine?

I chose to pursue a career as a naturopathic doctor so that I could connect with patients in a personal and positive way. I am a graduate of the accredited 4 year program of naturopathic medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, a member of the Ontario and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and a member in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. As a licenced and registered naturopathic doctor in Ontario, I am also certified in intravenous infusion therapy (IVIT) and hold all prescribing rights currently available to NDs in Ontario.

I practice as a naturopathic doctor because it allows me to engage patients in education about their health. My job is centered around helping my patients find true answers and solutions that are both effective and attainable. Naturopathic medicine works to resolve the underlying cause of health concerns, not just cover them up. I believe I am part of the future of healthcare that is sustainable, solution-based and the key to optimal health and wellness.

Who and What do I Treat?

I treat people, not disease. In my experience, most health concerns stem from nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, inflammation and chronic stress. When these are corrected and supported, the body has an inherent ability to return to a more vibrant and vital state.

Things I Love

I love to eat good food, get outside and travel the world! One of my greatest pleasures is spending Saturday morning with a cup of hot coffee under one of my mom’s handmade quilts. I may have an addiction to kale. I love snow on Christmas, lemon anything and the colour turquoise.

My recipe for health is just like the Life is Good motto – “Do what you love, and love what you do!”. I’m happy to call Uxbridge my home and live there with my incredibly supportive and unconditionally loving husband, our gorgeous son and our conditionally loving cat.
